Angel Illustrations

Hello my dear bloggers,

Today I am going to talk to you about an awesome digital artists known as Angel Illustrations. Angel is one of the rising stars within the new wave of digital painters. He has been published in a variety of magazines and books worldwide and is quickly establishing himself with an ever growing fanbase.

He is based in Swansea, UK. He studied Illustration in Swansea Metropolitan University, specialising in Book Jackets for his 3rd Year. Since 1999, he worked mostly in greyscale pencil work, before moving on to work digitally in 2003.

He has been completely digital since 2005 and has been featured in many publications.

In addition to all of this he is also working on releasing a new edition of Visions, which has had a name change and will be known as Forever: The Art Of Angel, also keep a look out for a calender for 2011.

He actually studied the course that I am currently on, so he has been a huge inspiration to me for years. I was lucky enough to actually meet and work with him within my first modelling experience back in March 09. Though at the time I didn't realise it was him, as I never really had a face to put with the artwork; well until I got home and flick through my ImagineFX.
Imagine the shock on my face when I realised I spent the day working with one of my favourite artist. I made a small cameo in his book Visions which was a great honour.

Since working with him on that shoot, I have been in contact with him over the last year, where he has kind of acted like a mentor to me and my artwork. In addition to this, I have also been working with him on solo pieces.
